But I've included a section on naturism in the garden because I think it's one of the most personal and rewarding places to enjoy being immersed in nature. When designing this site, I did wonder whether naked bodies do ever look in the right place when photographed in natural environments. Does a bare human look at home in a forest or by a lake as any other unclothed animal does? I came to the conclusion that only a very white body looks out of place in a sunny outdoors setting, probably because of the harsh contrast of skin that isn't acclimatised. The pictures on the right prove my point. I'm not a great advocate of intensive sunbathing for the sake of getting brown, but with regular exposure the body clearly adapts to a sunny environment. If you want to spend as much time outdoors as you can, in the fresh air and hopefully the sunshine, then the back garden seems the obvious place to do it.
